Macarena Santos i Torres, (born 8 April 1970) is a Spanish-Catalan writer who writes under the name "Care Santos". She writes in both Catalan and Spanish,〔(Gran Catalana )〕 for both young and adult readers.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Medverkande 2014 — Bok & Bibliotek )〕 Care Santos studied law and Spanish philology at the University of Barcelona. She started her career as a journalist at ''Diari de Barcelona'' and later worked for the papers ABC and El Mundo. In 1995, Santos was recognized for her first book, a collection of novels with the title ''Cuentos cítricos''. Her next books were ''Trigal con cuervos'' and ''Los ojos del lobo''. In 2007 she was nominated for a Primavera de Novrla Award for ''La muerte de Venus''. The book was translated into several languages.
